Our Mission is to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all. We proclaim his Gospel in Word and in Actions. We live to help others in whatever area of need possible. People will not come to Jesus unless they see Jesus in us. The mission of the Paw Paw Church of Christ is to be Jesus in our community and the world. Building His Kingdom one soul at a time through Evangelism, Education and Edification.
Evangelism With His Message
The Church of Christ and its members strive to continue to be active in our community, sharing the love of Christ and the message of the cross with our neighbors in Morgan County, and the surrounding area of Maryland and Virginia. Our goal is to develop a disciple-making mindset that notices others and actively reaches out to them, and create opportunities to engage the community for the cause of Christ.
While many organized efforts throughout the year provide opportunities for the congregation to connect with our community, we should remember that we don’t need a program to share our faith. We simply need to notice our neighbors and take the time to express care and concern, meet needs, and speak out for Jesus at work, at home, in our neighborhoods, and among friends and strangers.
Empowering With Education
The bible is the perfect, literal, inerrant, and simple word of God. Every word in the bible is relevant to our salvation. As Christians, we meditate on his word and are addicted to studying it. His word is our light. It directs us. It teaches us about the nature and character of God. It is the awesome story of our salvation. It teaches us about Christ’s love for us and his willingness to sacrifice his son to give us our hope.
Through Edification
One of the responsibilities of the Church and its members is edification. The meaning of edification is to build up. In the context of the Church, edification involves: constructive speech and behavior by Christian disciples and leaders to spiritually strengthen the Church and those whom they interact with inside and outside of the Church in the community and surrounding area.
In the end, our mission is all of the above. Our goal is to follow his every command and live like him in every way, and enable the Spirit to guide us every day. This means desperately seeking and saving the lost, urgently desiring peace with all men, completely devoting our lives to Christ’s purpose, helping people, loving one another, fearing God, and giving every bit of our heart, soul, and strength to him.
